.history.

Hyde Park MKE has recently morphed from the widely known Hyde Park Tailors and Cleaners.  Hugo Weginger started the business in the 1930's and named Hyde Park after the neighborhood in which it is located in Wauwatosa.  Many people from around Milwaukee and beyond came to Hyde Park because of its amazing reputation for men's tailoring and custom suits.

Hyde Park Tailors and Cleaners was then bought by Erwin Strigenz and Tony on August 29, 1960.  Tony worked until 1980, then Erwin's brother Josef joined working with him in 1981. They have worked side by side for decades, bringing a level of high class in suiting, tailoring and dry cleaning to the Wauwatosa area.

Erwin's daughter Roswitha (Deutsch) worked at the shop as a young girl helping out with the dry cleaning.  As of October 1, 2014, her daughter Sydney has taken over the family business.

Rose and Sydney travel the country to find all the beautiful items for the perfectly curated shop. The shop includes women’s clothing, men’s clothing, unisex and non-binary clothing, baby clothing and accessories for all plus gifts! They also source locally made items by makers across the Milwaukee area!
